What We Do

Kitchen
Remodeling Services

Full-scope kitchen remodeling work in Connecticut. Real craftsmanship, honest pricing, and results that hold up.

01 — Full Remodels

What We Do

A kitchen remodel is one of the biggest investments you can make in your home. Done right, it adds real value and changes how you live in the space. Done wrong, you live with the mistakes for years. We do kitchen remodels in CT with a focus on the parts that need real craftsmanship. Stone and quartz counters. Brick or stone backsplashes. Custom range hoods with masonry details. Structural wall removal when the kitchen needs to open up. We also handle the trades coordination so you do not have to manage five contractors.

02 — Custom Kitchens

End-to-End

Most folks call us for one of two reasons. Either they want a full kitchen remodel with masonry as a major feature, or they want masonry-specific work as part of a broader remodel another contractor is leading. We do both. Full remodels include cabinet installation, counter fabrication, backsplash work, lighting coordination, plumbing rough-in, electrical updates, flooring, and final finish. Masonry-only work focuses on the stone, brick, and structural masonry elements. Either way we deliver finished space, not a half job that someone else has to come back and fix.

03 — Trade Coordination

On Schedule

Kitchen remodels go wrong when contractors over-promise on timeline and budget, then change the rules halfway through. We give you a real timeline and real pricing up front. Things can change if you make design changes during the project but we tell you about cost impacts before we do the work. Our masonry background helps because we can handle stone counters, structural changes, and custom features in-house. Other contractors subcontract that work out, which adds cost and timeline risk. We do the masonry ourselves. That keeps the project moving.

Common Problems

Common Kitchen Remodel Issues
in Connecticut

Most kitchen remodel issues come from bad planning or contractor coordination problems. Sometimes we are called to finish projects that other contractors started and walked away from. Here is what we see in CT homes.

Unfinished or Half-Done Remodels

Previous contractor stopped showing up. Project sat for months. Materials are partly installed. Trades stopped halfway through. We come in, assess what is done and what needs to happen, and finish the project. Sometimes we keep what is there. Sometimes we have to redo work that was done wrong. We tell you the actual situation.

Counter Installation Problems

Counters cracked during install. Seams visible. Cabinets not strong enough to hold the stone counter weight. Counters that do not sit flat or have visible gaps at the wall. We handle counter problems by removing and reinstalling, fabricating new counters when needed, or reinforcing cabinets to handle the load.

Structural Issues Discovered Mid-Project

Wall the previous contractor wanted to remove turned out to be load-bearing. Plumbing or electrical in the wall is unexpected. These mid-project surprises require structural engineering and code-compliant solutions. We assess what is actually there and design a solution that works without compromising the original remodel goals.

Our Process

How We Run
Your Kitchen Project

Five steps from first call to finished kitchen. Bigger projects than other masonry work, which means more planning and longer timelines.

1

Site Visit & Consultation

We come out to the property, look at the site, take measurements, and listen to what you want. Layout, materials, budget, timeline. No pressure. This is where we figure out if the project makes sense.

2

Written Estimate

Within a few business days you get a detailed written estimate with line items for materials, labor, permits, and disposal. No vague lump-sum numbers. You see exactly what you are paying for before signing anything.

3

Demo & Rough-In

Existing kitchen comes out. Plumbing, electrical, and gas rough-in happens. Framing changes for layout modifications. Any structural issues get addressed before finishes start.

4

Cabinets, Counters & Tile

Cabinets installed level and secure. Countertops templated, fabricated, and set. Backsplash tile installed and grouted. Appliances hooked up and tested. Trim and finish work last.

5

Walkthrough & Handoff

Final walkthrough with you on site. We go over the work, care instructions, and any maintenance you should know about. Job site gets cleaned. You get finished work backed by our workmanship.

Materials That Matter

Materials for
Your Kitchen

Kitchen materials vary widely based on style and budget. Here are the categories we work with most. We do not push specific brands. We tell you what holds up and what does not.

Custom Cabinetry

Solid wood face frames, plywood boxes, soft-close hardware. Custom or semi-custom sized to your space. Not the particle-board boxes home centers push.

Natural Stone Countertops

Granite, quartzite, or marble slabs templated to the exact layout. Cut and polished off-site. Set with matching stone edges and undermount sink cutouts.

Quartz Countertops

Engineered stone with consistent color and no sealing required. Wide pattern range. Great for high-use kitchens where maintenance matters.

Porcelain & Ceramic Tile

Backsplash and floor tile in porcelain, ceramic, or natural stone. Full waterproofing behind wet-area tile. Correct substrate for the application.

Real Wood Flooring

Solid or engineered hardwood installed and finished on site. Wide plank or standard width. Refinishable multiple times over decades of use.

Recessed & Under-Cabinet Lighting

LED recessed cans on dimmers plus under-cabinet lighting on task areas. Layered lighting that makes the kitchen functional day and night.

Watch For These

What Makes a Kitchen Remodel Fail
in Connecticut

Kitchen remodels go bad for predictable reasons. Most have nothing to do with the materials and everything to do with planning and contractor management. Here is what to watch for before you hire anyone.

1

Vague Estimates

Estimates without line items create disputes during the project. You think the counter material is included. The contractor thinks it is separate. We give written estimates with everything broken out: demo, materials, labor, trades, and finish work. You see exactly what you are paying for and what is included.

2

No Timeline Discipline

Some contractors start three jobs at once and stretch each one out. Your kitchen sits half done for weeks while they work other jobs. We give you a real timeline and stick to it. If something delays the project, you hear about it the same day, not when you ask.

3

Mid-Project Surprises

Wall ends up load-bearing. Plumbing in the wrong place. Electrical service needs upgrading. Surprises happen on remodels but they should be rare. We open walls early in the project to find surprises before the rest of the work commits to certain decisions.

4

Bad Trade Coordination

Plumber shows up but cabinets are not ready. Electrician roughs in before drywall. Counters measured before cabinets fully set. Bad sequencing kills kitchen projects. We schedule trades in proper order so each one builds on the last.

Frequently Asked

Common Questions
About Kitchen Remodels

Real answers from 15 years of kitchen remodeling in Connecticut. No marketing fluff.

How much does a kitchen remodel cost in CT?

Wide range. A masonry-focused update like new counters and backsplash runs lower. A full remodel with new layout, cabinets, and trades runs much higher. CT pricing also varies by town. We come out, listen to what you want, and put a written estimate with detailed line items in your hands within a few business days.

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

Depends on scope. A counter and backsplash update can finish in 1 to 3 weeks. A refresh with cabinets and finishes runs 3 to 6 weeks. A full remodel with structural changes and trades coordination is 6 to 12 weeks. We give you a real timeline in the estimate and stick to it.

Will I be able to use my kitchen during the remodel?

Usually no for full remodels. The kitchen will be out of service for most of the project. We help you plan a temporary kitchen setup, often in another room with a microwave, mini-fridge, and access to water. Refresh projects sometimes allow partial use. We tell you up front what to expect.

Do you handle permits and inspections?

Yes. Full kitchen remodels in CT always need permits, especially if plumbing, electrical, or structural work is involved. We pull the permits with your local building department and coordinate inspections at the right milestones. You do not deal with town hall.

Stone or quartz counters?

Both have pros and cons. Stone is unique, beautiful, and lasts decades but needs occasional sealing. Quartz is consistent, low maintenance, and resists stains better but does not have the natural variation. We show you samples of both on the design meeting and you pick.

Can you add a kitchen island to my existing kitchen?

Sometimes. Depends on the layout, the floor space, and what is under the floor for electrical and plumbing if the island needs water or power. We assess feasibility on the site visit. Sometimes a fixed island makes sense. Sometimes a moveable cart works better for the space. We tell you which fits your kitchen.
