We install bluestone and pavers in CT. Patios, walkways, pool decks, driveways. Thermal bluestone, natural cleft bluestone, all major paver brands. 15 years on the job. Free estimates and we call back.
We get called for bluestone and paver repair work as often as new installs. Most repairs trace back to base or drainage issues.
Spalling is when the surface of the stone flakes off. Usually caused by the wrong stone for CT weather, or by deicing salt eating the surface. We pull damaged stones and replace with thermal bluestone.
We replace with proper thermal bluestoneBase problem, every time. The contractor did not dig deep enough or compact the gravel right. Over a few CT winters, the pavers settle into low spots.
We lift, rebuild base, and reset levelBluestone and pavers can stain from leaves, fertilizer, oil drips, and salt. Most stains can be cleaned with the right cleaner. We clean and reseal as a maintenance service.
We clean, restore, and resealEvery bluestone or paver installation comes with the same parts. The material on top changes, the process underneath stays consistent.

Built Right.
First Time.
Two main categories with multiple options inside each. We show you samples on the site visit and walk through the pros and cons of each.

Smooth surface with controlled texture. Made by heat-treating the stone face. Most popular for patios and pool decks.

Rougher natural surface. Each piece slightly different. Reads more rustic and traditional.

Engineered, uniform sizing. Many colors and patterns. Lower cost than natural bluestone.

Allows water to drain through the surface. Helps with stormwater management.

We install bluestone and pavers every week. We know the cuts, the patterns, the joint widths, and which materials hold up in CT weather.
Anyone can set stones in a pattern. The base is where most contractors cut corners. We dig deep, compact in layers, and never skip drainage.
We tell you which stones spall, which pavers fade, and which materials hold up in CT. No upselling.
Most bluestone and paver failures in CT trace back to the same handful of mistakes.
Pavers and bluestone need a base of compacted crushed stone. Most residential applications need 6 to 8 inches. Some installers use 2 to 3 inches.
Without edge restraints, the outside row of pavers shifts outward over time. Once that happens, joints open up, sand washes out, and the whole installation starts to come apart.
Regular play sand washes out of joints in the first heavy rain. Empty joints let water under the stones, the base shifts, and the installation fails.
Water has to go somewhere. If the installation does not drain, water pools, freezes, and pushes the stones around.
Bluestone and pavers work across most hardscape applications. Here is what we install most often in CT.
The most common application. Thermal bluestone or concrete pavers on a proper base, sized for outdoor living.
Bluestone or pool-rated pavers around in-ground pools. Slip resistant, proper drainage away from pool.
Heavy duty pavers rated for vehicle loads. Deeper base than patios because of weight.
Straight answers from 15 years of installing bluestone and pavers across Connecticut. No fluff.
Depends on the look and the budget. Bluestone is natural stone, more expensive, classic CT look. Pavers are engineered, lower cost per square foot, come in many colors and patterns. Both last decades when installed right.
Thermal is heat-treated, giving you a smoother surface. Natural cleft is the raw stone face, rougher and more variable. Thermal is more popular for patios and pool decks because it is comfortable on bare feet.
Bluestone runs higher per square foot than pavers because it is natural stone. Total project cost depends on the square footage, the design complexity, and site conditions. We give you a written estimate with material and labor broken out.
Bluestone has natural color variation that softens over decades but does not fade dramatically. Pavers from major manufacturers have UV-stable pigments that hold color for 15 to 20 years before any visible fading.
Most patios finish in 5 to 10 work days. Walkways finish faster. Driveways and larger pool decks run longer. Weather can stretch the timeline because polymeric sand needs dry conditions to activate.
Pavers usually do not need sealing. Bluestone benefits from sealing every 3 to 5 years, especially if it is in a high traffic area or near grills. We can seal as part of the install or as a separate service.
